Protection of Culture and Traditions

The culture and traditions of a country is one of the “basic elements” when considering a country/place as a touristic destination. More and more, persons are travelling to see “what is different”… the culture… the essence of the place… its gastronomy, rituals, handcrafts, etc… Tourism can therefore be considered as a stimulus for cultural preservation.

The problem is when the culture is overused.

The development of tourism projects can also bring an unwanted exodus by the local community, if laws and regulations are too wide on allowing tourism development at any price.

Causing at its most extreme, possible violations of Human Rights, as we will see in this section. The same as some recommendations to reduce these types of risks.
